Blackberry Leaf Tea Packaging

I designed original labels for bottles of blackberry leaf tea, in addition to a four-pack drink carrier. My goal was to advertise this particular kind of tea in a classy, modern way so that consumers might be drawn to the attractive visuals and be compelled to choose this beverage over a soda or other sugary drink.

An earthy tasting herbal tea that is full of health benefits.

Blackberry leaf tea is not commonly found in the drink department, but after doing some research I found that this kind of tea should be recognized. While blackberries usually take the spotlight, the leaves of the blackberry plant can be made into a tea that is full of antioxidants that are good for a sore mouth and throat, which I featured in the label.

Inspired by blackberry artwork and the sparkling peach tea from Trader Joe’s, I knew from the start the kind of visual style I wanted to achieve with my branding. However, it took many rounds of iterations and lots of trial and error to establish this look in my branding.

After trying my label on cans for most of the process, I reexamined my reasoning for this choice since cans are typically used for carbonated beverages. I ended up changing to glass bottles, which I found to be a practical switch since I was able to make parts of the label transparent.

As someone who enjoys bottled iced tea frequently, I recognize the appeal of sophisticated drink design and branding, as well as the elements consumers might consider when weighing beverage options.
